NYC for our 12th anniversary

Kevin and I have been happily married now for 12 years and the best part is we are married to each other. Its great fun. We have many good times and adventures. To Celebrate our anniversary this year we took a short trip by train to NYC. We almost didn't go because I had to study for the math class I was taking, (i took my final tonight and when and when I turned in the test the professor informed me that if i got 0 on the final I would still pass the class, i think i got at least 60% of the questions on the test. there were a couple that i totally picked a random number just so i wouldn't have to leave the space blank) any way things worked out with the math class to make it seem OK to take a weekend off, and it worked out with Kevin's work at the tech review as well. So Friday morning we hopped the Amtrak at south station. and had a nice quite ride to NYC pen station ( they have a special quite car you can't talk on a cell phone and if you have a friend you must only whisper). When we arrived we walked from Pen station to our hotel which was very near Radio city Music Hall, We took the scenic route, by Broadway and Through time square. A man in time square tried to sell us some tickets to a comedy show, but we weren't interested. WE already had tickets to a show on the pier that night. After we got settled in, we headed out on a long walk to reach pier 17 near the Brooklyn bridge. it was fun, there was lots to see. It rained on us I was amazed to see how many people just happened to have boxes full of cheap umbrellas for sale on every street corner as soon as the first tiny drop fell they came out of the wood work. I was glad to see them as i would have been absolutely drenched if not for there timely appearance. The man Kevin bought my umbrella from said he owned a little jewelery store across the street.

on our way to the pier we went in one store that caught our eye, it was full of gorgeous tapestry's, carpets and amazing chandeliers off all colors and sizes, sparkling and hanging at different heights it was magical. Kevin asked if he could take a picture of it but the products were all handmade by artist who didn't want people to steal there designs.

I just looked at the time, its 12:01 am,
maybe i should put this the short way.

we went to the show there were amazing, and beautiful acrobats, and a couple who did death defying rollerskating tricks on a tiny little roller rink, and a couple of comedians, It was a fun show, and a really cool venue, a small tent with stained glass windows. and the tents looked really brilliant in front of the view of the Brooklyn bridge.

on Saturday we woke up and bought a bagel egg sandwich and lattes and took them to Central park and had our breakfast on a rock with the trees and the buildings creating quite a scene around us, it was almost not real I have never seen anything quiet like it.
Saturday turned out to be an amazing day weather wise, totally blue sky above NYC. We spent some time exploring central park, rented a row boat and went for a row on a lake. Being on the lake was very relaxing. After our row we continued exploring the park for several hours. We found a small pond and watched people trying to sail remote control boats. We watched the children playing and posing for pictures on the Alice in Wonderland statue. Saw a castle overlooking a turtle pond and a piece of Egyptian history.
Later we walked to Chelsea, had a hot dog at Papyas ( we lived on a variation of bagels eggs, pizza and hot dogs all weekend). We found another park that was very popular with street musicians, and had a wonderful dog park, were dogs of all shapes and sizes played together, I watched them for probably 20 minutes or more they were having so much fun It was oozing out and covering everybody who walked by every one had to stop and enjoy the scene even if just briefly. there was a huge Great Dane, and 2 tiny pugs, a crazy basset hound who seemed ill informed as to the length of his own legs, and a full size poodle who could jump 5 feet straight up in the air. You get the picture, mans best friend in every make and model.
We moved on and caught the end of streetball game. WE had dinner out side at a fun little Italian brick oven pizza place, The pizza was really Good.
WE eventually ended up in time square again at about 2 am and there was and amazing amount of hustle (shell games for big money) and bustle, tourists and people leaving bars and shows and looking for a "midnight" snack, which sounded good to us so we bought cheese burgers from MC Donald's, took them back to the hotel and ate them on the club room deck admiring the view of st.Patrick's cathedral all lit up, and wondering at how you couldn't see a single star, no matter how hard you tried the night sky was way to bright.

We had an excellent time exploring the big city. and Being together on our 12Th anniversary.

And it was also nice coming out of the train station Near Copley square in Boston and feeling like we were home.
