Today I stood in line at the Harvard Coop in order to see Jimmy Carter and have him sighn his book Palestine Peace not Apartheid. I was really nervous. I wanted to say the right thing.
It turned out to be an assembly line. but He was there looking very little in a large chair surrounded by secret service and employs and people all on their feet. He didn't have a lot of chance to look up even. I figured after watching what took place before me that he wouldn't even see me. I said "boy this is quite the assembly line you've got going here, and he looked up so i said your a machine, he said he was used to it. he said "thanks for coming today and i said thank you and something like i am honored to be here or something to that effect and then he said that's a pretty girl like to the person standing behind him. and that was it. the closest i have been to any kind of president.
i really admire Jimmy Carter. I almost got more books so i could try again. but i didn't want to erase the first experience with a second because just after I walked away everything began to blur and i know i don't remember it entirely accurately any more. just a general sense of it, a vague picture and some words.
I have been thinking of starting another blog. and I thought a day like today a day of a first (wich i collect by making note) would be a good day to start somthing. I also started reading the book. I think it is going to be very imformative.
